Capturing History in Progress: The Transformation of the the Bixby Home

Hello Architectural Enthusiasts,

I am excited to announce that I am embarking on a captivating journey that will not only document but also celebrate the remarkable transformation of the historic Bixby Home, nestled on State Line Road in Kansas City, Missouri. I am honored to have been awarded the opportunity to photograph the construction and rehabilitation progress of this iconic architectural gem. Spearheading this incredible project will be, Kirk and Matthew Wulff of Wulff Construction + Additions. I will be working alongside them both and will follow their lead when it comes time to best capture the project’s many future milestones.

The Bixby Home, a testament to the vision of renowned architect Edward Tanner, stands as a silent witness to the passage of time and the evolving narrative of Kansas City’s architectural history. Designed with meticulous detail, the Bixby Home has long been a KC landmark, its walls echoing tales of a bygone era.

This blog will be a visual chronicle, a narrative woven through the lens, showcasing the dedication and craftsmanship invested in the rehabilitation of the Bixby Home. I invite you to follow along as I attempt to relay to you the transformation of this architectural splendor. Together, let’s celebrate the artistry of Edward Tanner and the artisans who are breathing new life into this timeless masterpiece.

Stay tuned for the unfolding chapters of the Bixby Home’s resurgence – a story told frame by frame.

Thank you,

Craig Keene
